Antique Japanese Kakigori Ice Shaver
£295.00
An exquisite blue ice shaver from the 1950s.
Known in Japan as a KakigÅri machine, it was traditionally used to create finely shaved ice desserts at summer festivals and street food stalls, now it serves as a lovely sculptural display piece for home, garden or retail.
The sturdy cast-iron construction is made for Oshidori in Tokyo and features elegant mandarin duck motifs to the front and sides, showcasing authentic Japanese craftsmanship.
Its manual crank and impressive gear mechanism make this piece both decorative and functional, although it would need renovation to be used fully.
A charming and collectible piece of vintage Japanese design and mid-century history, ideal for collectors and interior designers.
Fully Closed Height 83cm.
Ice plate 22cm.
