Tribes 8 by Julian Le Bas
£265.00
A piece of Outsider Art by sought after Sussex based artist Julian Le Bas.
The term outsider art was coined in 1972 as the English equivalent of the 1940’s French Art Brut movement – raw/rough art. Made by self-taught or supposedly naïve artists who have little or no contact with the conventions of the art world, their work often, illustrates extreme mental states and unconventional ideas.
This is one piece of a series of ten entitled ‘Tribes’ which perfectly captures the essence of the genre and the primitive nature of the tribes people depicted.
All pieces are mounted on primitive open frames and are listed separately.
Priced individually, please get in touch for a price for multiple pieces or the complete collection.
Dimensions are approximate due to primitive nature of the frames.
